Our School Year Only Preschool programs are designed to meet the needs of families looking to enrich their child’s development without needing all daycare. This program follows the St. John Vianney school year calendar, and meets every day from 8:30-3:30 during the school year. A minimum of 2 days a week attendance is required.
The goals of the program are social and emotional development combined with a structured routine that balances individual, small, and large group activities. Our children enjoy a wide range of activities that introduce early literacy, phonics, reading, music, art, math, science concepts, fine and large muscle activities, and lessons for their spiritual growth. This program also includes outdoor play and free choice time.
The school year only preschool programs begin at age 3. A child must be fully toilet trained to be enrolled in school year only programs. Please contact Olivia Griffin at ogriffin@stjohnvianney.net if you are interested in enrolling your child in a school year only preschool program!

Our teachers create a nurturing learning environment that establishes independence, encourages creativity and curiosity, and promotes children’s love for learning. In the Preschool 4s class, our teachers focus on play based learning that builds reading, math, literacy, fine & gross motor skills that are necessary for kindergarten and beyond.
Developmental Kindergarten
Our Developmental Kindergarten class is designed for children who are at the age to enter kindergarten, but may not be ready for the full rigor of the academic curriculum. DK allows children an extra year to continue to develop social, emotional, reading, literacy, and other academic skills before entering traditional kindergarten. Our DK teachers combine our SJV Kindergarten Learning Standards with the play based model of our preschool programs. Children in our DK program will benefit from the small class size and consistent routines while preparing them for kindergarten.
