How to prepare for Divine Mercy Sunday
- Celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter;
- Sincerely repent of all our sins
- Stay in the state of grace
- Place our complete trust in Jesus
- Go to Confession, preferably before that Sunday – 20 days before or after Mercy Sunday is allowed
- Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast. If homebound and communion can’t be brought to you, say an Act of Contrition and make a Spiritual Communion
- Pray for the Holy Father’s Intentions at Mass
- Venerate the Image of The Divine Mercy for about 15 min (To venerate a sacred image or statue simply means to perform some act or make some gesture of deep religious respect toward it because of the person whom it represents, in this case, our Most Merciful Savior)
Our Lord said to St. Faustina: The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. (Diary, 1578).
